今回は、ラスタカラーが世に知られるきっかけとなったラスタファリ運動についてのお話です（前回ブログの続きです。前回ブログ「ラスタカラーの意味」はこちら）
ラスタファリ運動とは、1930年代にジャマイカの労働者階級と農民を中心として発生した宗教的思想運動とされています。
思想にはアフリカに起源のある全ての黒人の地位を向上させる『アフリカ回帰運動』の要素があり、「自由」や「解放」という強いメッセージを世界に向けて発信するものでした。
当時のジャマイカは400年以上続く植民地支配の歴史のなかにあったので（1962年にイギリスから独立）社会的に抑圧された人々の抵抗運動という背景もあったようです。
そして、この活動の象徴、シンボルが、レゲエの神様「ボブ・マーリー」でした。
彼自身は、1945年に生まれ、36歳という若さで亡くなっていますが、その短い生涯の中で、ラスタファリ運動のメッセージをジャマイカ独自の音楽「レゲエ」に乗せて世界に届け続けたからこそ、今でもラスタファリ運動の象徴と言われ続けているんですね。

This time, I would like to talk about the Rastafari movement that made Rasta colors known to the world.
The Rastafari Movement is a religious ideological movement that emerged in the 1930s among the Jamaican working class and farmers.
The idea had elements of the "Return to Africa Movement" to improve the status of all blacks of African origin, and sent out a strong message of "freedom" and "liberation" to the world.
At that time, Jamaica had a history of over 400 years of colonial rule (independence from Britain in 1962), so it seems that there was also a background of resistance movements by socially oppressed people.
And the symbol of this activity was the god of reggae "Bob Marley".
He himself was born in 1945 and passed away at the young age of 36. During his short life, he continued to convey the message of the Rastafari movement to the world with Jamaican's unique music "reggae". However, it continues to be considered a symbol of the Rastafari movement.
