今回は、ラスタカラーの意味についてのお話です。
ラスタカラーとは、そもそもなんぞやという話なのですが…
用語としては、ラスタファリアン・カラー（Rastafarian color）の略で、ヒンドゥ語で「道」という意味があります。
また、エチオピア帝国最後の皇帝、ハイレ・セラシエ1世が即位する前の名前（ラス・タファリ・マコンネン）に由来するのだとか。
「赤・黄・緑」の3色のイメージですが、実は黒を含めて4色をラスタカラーというのが正式だそうです。
それぞれのカラーが持つ意味合いとしては、諸説あるようですが、こんな感じ。
赤…戦いで流された鮮血
黄…輝く太陽
緑…豊かな大地
黒…故郷アフリカ、ジャマイカ独立のために戦った黒人戦士
ちなみに、配色は、真ん中が「黄」、縁取りが「黒」と決まっているそうです。
レゲエの代表カラーという陽気なイメージが強いですが、そこには深い意味があるんですね。

As a term, it stands for Rastafarian color, which means "way" in Hindi.
It is also said that the last emperor of the Ethiopian Empire, Haile Selassie I, came from the name (Ras Tafari Makonnen) before he was enthroned.
It is an image of three colors of "red, yellow, green", but in fact, it seems that four colors including black are officially called raster colors.
It seems that there are various theories as to the meaning of each color, but it looks like this.
Red: Fresh blood shed in battle
yellow...shining sun
Green…rich land
Black: A black warrior who fought for the independence of Jamaica in his homeland of Africa.
By the way, it seems that the color scheme is decided to be "yellow" in the center and "black" for the border.
The image of reggae's representative color is strong, but there is a deep meaning there.
