今回は、「ラスタファリズム」についてのお話です。
前回、前々回のブログで、改めて「ラスタカラー」や「ラスタファリ運動」について調べてみたところ、調べれば調べるほど奥が深くて、もう少し「ラスタファリズム」、特にラスタファリアン独特の生活スタイルについて勉強してみたくなったのでこの話題をもう少し掘り下げてみたいと思います。
「ラスタファリズム」をざっくり言うと「ジャマイカで生まれた宗教的思想・生活スタイル」です。
アフリカ回帰思想や旧約聖書が軸となっています。
ラスタファリズムの実践者が「ラスタファリアン」や「ラスタ」と呼ばれていて、「菜食主義」や「ドレッドヘア」などがパッと浮かぶイメージだと思いますが、それぞれ旧約聖書に則って生活した結果と言えます。
「菜食主義」
豚肉やエビなどの甲殻類、貝類などを旧約聖書に則って禁じ、アイタルフード（Ital Food）と呼ばれる自然食を摂取。
「ドレッドヘア」（正式にはドレッドロックス）
こちらも旧約聖書の中に、たとえ髪の毛であっても自らの身体に刃物を入れることを禁じる記述があるためこれに則って禁じた結果、髪の毛が絡まって房状になったもの。
ラスタファリアン独特の食文化やヘアスタイルにはこんな宗教的な意味があったんですね。

Rastafarianism is roughly defined as a religious thought and lifestyle originating in Jamaica.
It is centered on the thought of returning to Africa and the Old Testament.
Practitioners of Rastafarianism are called “Rastafarians” and “Rastas,” and images such as “vegetarianism” and “dreadlocks” come to mind. can be said.

In accordance with the Old Testament, crustaceans such as pork, shrimp, and shellfish are prohibited, and a natural diet called Ital Food is consumed.
"Dreadlocks"
This is also a description in the Old Testament that forbids putting a knife into one's body, even if it is hair. tufted.
The food culture and hairstyles unique to Rastafarians had such a religious meaning.
