初回の今回は、作品に込められた「エネルギー」について書いてみたいと思います。
絵に限らずですが、何か作品を作り出すということには、そこに作者の莫大なエネルギーが注がれて生み出されています。
作者がこれまで培ってきたスキル、経験、価値観、時間…作者を形作るあらゆるものをエネルギーに変えて作品という形でアウトプットしています。
自分を形作るものをエネルギーに変えるためには、自分の人生と向き合う必要があります。なんだか大袈裟な表現ですが、要は自分の中にないものはエネルギーとして絞り出せないので、自分と向き合わざるえないということです。
自分の核は何なのか、その原点は何なのか…
自分の過去も紐解きながら、探っていきます。
そうして時間をかけて見つ出した「自分」のかけらを自分なりに昇華して作品に表現します。
Ryusen Masunoも長い年月をかけてこの作業を繰り返した結果、「色鉛筆×ラスタカラー」という今のスタイルに辿り着きました。
作者が自分と向き合った末に絞り出したエネルギーが、作品を通して見る側に伝わった時、そこに感動が生まれたり、刺激になったり…見る側に伝わる何かを生み出すのだと思っています。
次回は、「色鉛筆」を使った表現についてお話ができればと思っています。

For the first time, I would like to write about the "energy" contained in the work.
It's not limited to paintings, but when creating a work of art, the artist pours a huge amount of energy into it.
The skills, experience, sense of values, and time that the artist has cultivated over the years are converted into energy and output in the form of works.
In order to transform what makes you into energy, you need to face your life.
It's kind of an exaggeration, but the point is that you can't squeeze out as energy what you don't have inside yourself, so you have to face yourself.
What is your core, and what is its origin?
I'm going to search while unraveling my past.
In this way, I sublimate the fragments of “myself” that I have found over time and express them in my work.
As a result of repeating this work over many years, Ryusen Masuno has arrived at the current style of “colored pencils x raster colors”.
When the energy that the artist squeezes out after facing himself in this way is conveyed to the viewer through the work,
it creates an impression or a stimulus... I think it creates something that can be conveyed to the viewer.
Next time, I would like to talk about expressions using "colored pencils".
